PWLA offers scholarships to female graduates

The Fuquay-Varina Professional Women’s Leadership Association (PWLA) of the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce is offering business scholarships to two graduating female students of Fuquay-Varina High School (FVHS).

Applicants must be residents of Fuquay-Varina who have a current GPA of 3.0 or higher and who are seeking to obtain a degree in some facet of business. One scholarship, valued at $1,000, will be awarded to a female who has been accepted to a four-year accredited institution of higher learning. The second is valued at $500 and will go to a female who will be attending a two-year program at an accredited institution.

Additional items to be submitted along with the application are her FVHS transcript, including GPA, copy of college acceptance letter and a 250 to 300-word essay on why the PWLA scholarship should be awarded to her.

Applications for the PWLA Scholarship with complete details and requirements are now available at FVHS Student Services and the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce. Completed applications must be turned in to FVHS Student services no later than April 30, 2013.
