Lillington – Mary Lee “Brownie” Johnson, 85, went to be with her Lord on Friday October 19, 2012. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, at Memorial Baptist Church, 217 Leslie Campbell Avenue, Buies Creek. The family received friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment followed the service at Buies Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her daughter, Starr Johnson and son, Timothy Johnson.
She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. A graduate of Campbell University, she was loving, caring, kind and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis D. Johnson, Sr.; sons, David Johnson and wife, Teresa of Fayetteville and Murray Johnson and wife, Yvonne of Raleigh; three sisters, Ola Mae Corbett of Melbourne, FL, Joyce Smith of Christian Light and Sarah Thompson of New Port, NC; six grandchildren, Bridgette, Lewis III, Natasha, Stuart, Taylor and Dylan; and great grandson, Kendall.
