Our deepest sympathy goes to the family of Mr. Robert Miller, “Bob,” of W3450 Cokesbury Road in Fuquay-Varina, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012. A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at First United Methodist Church in Fuquay-Varina. Burial was at the Cokesbury United Methodist Church Cemetery in Fuquay-Varina.

Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church presented its annual “Hanging of the Green” Christmas program Sunday night. Church family and visitors were spiritually uplifted with the Christmas atmosphere.

Miss Janet Johnson of Windsor Point, Fuquay-Varina, formerly of Chalybeate Springs Community, celebrated her 100th birthday in the month of November. On Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, she enjoyed family members, Church family members and friends as they presented lovely cards and other useful gifts and wished her many more happy returns.

Miss Johnson is the oldest member in the Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church.

Ms. Annie Bullock returned home on Friday, Nov. 30 after spending two weeks celebrating Thanksgiving with her daughter and other family members in Washington, D.C.

While in Washington, a family get-together was enjoyed on Saturday, Nov. 24, honoring Ms. Bullock on her 98th birthday. The honoree received lovely cards, monetary gifts and many wishes for her to have many more returns.

Visiting Ms. Bullock on Saturday was her nephew, Thomas Greer, of Fayetteville.

Spending the Thanksgiving holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith were their daughters, Mrs. Laurie Perez of Trinity and Mr. and Mrs. Cress Hall of Advance.

Ms. Birddie Matthews had her children and grandchildren at home for Thanksgiving dinner.
