This Oct. 27, the quiet town of Fuquay-Varina, will again be wakened with the undead nipping at their heels at the 2nd Annual Strafe Zombie Run, a zombie-themed 5k run and fundraiser benefiting Fuquay-Varina High School, but this time there will be more obstacles and zombies to overcome and more activities for all ages.

Strafe Gaming Lounge is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Strafe Zombie Run. The Strafe Zombie Run fundraiser of last year was so popular that Strafe is doing it again and with more fun and activities.

With Raleigh’s own Precision Race managing the race, the event will be seamless as runners obtain information and packets easily and get times instantly. During and after the game there will be plenty of live entertainment, a not-so scary Wee Zombie Zone for the little living including bounce houses, face painting and more, refreshments, Halloween costume contests for all ages and a survivor after party at Strafe Gaming Lounge.

“We were able to raise $1,500 last year for the Fuquay-Varina Technology in the Classroom Initiative with only one month of planning and a bitter cold down-pouring event day. We hope this year with more activities, events and a great race company we can raise even more to give and with hundreds of participants already registered we’re on our way.“ say Paxton & Jessica Galvanek, creators of the Strafe Zombie Run and owners of Strafe Gaming Lounge, the presenter of the event. The 5k run will begin at 9am out front of Strafe Gaming Lounge on Academy Street and will follow along scenic residential roads of Fuquay-Varina. The only catch is the route will be littered with brain hungry zombies that will appear and follow participants that will have to run for their lives so the zombies don’t take their health in the form of flags around their beltline. This year’s race will have some obstacles and a lot more zombies, but those who don’t want to play the game can register as a walker so they can get the effect without the game. Individuals of all ages and skill levels are welcome and encouraged to participate. Immediately following the event is Strafe Gaming Lounge’s after party and Fuquay-Varina’s annual Day in Downtown where family festivities continue throughout the rest of the day.

Registration packages for the event start as low as $25 and include a game-day shirt, race bib, refreshments, after party admission and a chance to win awards and prizes. Sponsor packages start at $50 and proceeds from the event will benefit the Fuqay-Varina High School.
