Have you ever been walking around in the woods and found a deer antler and thought it would make a great chandelier, ornamental piece or decoration? Well apparently at one point you needed a license to collect them. Luckily these laws have changed.

It is now legal to collect, create with, and sell products containing shed antlers. If you are a hunter and you kill a deer you will still need a permit but if you find shed antlers out on the land you are allowed to take them and sell them in North Carolina. This means some people will likely go out on “shed antler hunts” in order to collect different antlers from around the state and create rustic antler chandeliers or other decoration.

Comment below and share what you think about the ability to find, use and sell shed antlers in North Carolina.
